Artist Statement---
I draw for the love of it, ever since I can remember.  I always enjoyed putting my imagination on paper and then showing it off to friends and family.  Everyone around me have always complimented my artwork, and still do to this day.

My artwork is either imaginary, out of my head, or from what I see in front of me.  Usually my drawings come from photographs I take of the subjects., this way I can work  on it little by little, day by day.

The mediums I work  in are graphite, charcoal, and pastel (new to me).  My art is made from what I have available to me in local art stores, such as Hobby Lobby and Michael's.  I'm a college student , so I have a very tight budget and spend my money on materials wisely.

My art means alot to me.  As all artists, I favor/value some of my art more than other artwork that I have done.  I keep my artwork original, and prefer to draw from my own photographs.

  The Artist

Born (1977) and raised in St. Joseph, MO, I am a self-taught artist who has loved to draw since I've learned to pick up a pencil.  The only instruction I had in art were those teaching it through the schools of my younger years, only those were more directional than instructional to me, and a lesson at the Albrecht Gallery (now Albrecht-Kemper Museum) of St. Joseph at a very young age.  Mediums I use are either pencil, charcoal, and a new one to me, pastel.

I am a college student , living in Gladstone, MO, majoring in business administration .  At first, I majored in commercial art, but didn't care much for the other art courses needed other than "drawing."  Not to mention the courses are more expensive than regular classes, with lab fees and supplies.  I don't need a degree in art to become an artist, I'm already one.  Instead of waisting my money and time on a variety of art courses, such as painting, ceramics, sculpture, printing, etc. that I won't ever need, I decided to go toward the business side of my artwork, such as management, accounting, and marketing, where I can be my own manager/dealer.

I'm inspired by Renaissance Art to 19th century art of Europe and the United States.
